So you’ve started your business and you’re super motivated. Woohoo we’re all so freaking excited for you.
But now it’s getting tough. It was easy to show up every day in the beginning because it was exciting, new and shiny and let’s face it you didn’t expect a cheering party on day 1.
You’re a few months in now and you’re still out there, but a little less regular, momentum is waning and you’re feeling like you’re showing up for nothing.
So how do you keep going when the motivation is starting to slow? I’m just gonna get real with you. If we all waited until motivation kicked in, none of us would actually achieve anything.
Do you think that all the successful leaders in the world wake up every day, raring to go, let’s get this show on the road. Of course not. They wake up the same as you and me; tired, unfocused and thinking I really can’t be arsed today!
So what makes them different? I’ll tell you, it’s HABITS, RITUALS, GOALS and SCHEDULES. NOT motivation. Motivation is not what’s driving them everyday. The fear of looking in the mirror at the end of the day and having to to justify to the person looking back at them why they didn’t give it their all (because that’s the one person you can’t lie to!) That’s what drives them. David Goggins says when you think you’re at full capacity you’re actually only at 40%. And that man is a frickin rock star.
Stop listening to your BS EXCUSES why you can’t do today. What’s the number one excuse for everything. NO TIME. Please, we’ve all got the same 24 hours in a day. Just some use the time wisely and some people use time as an excuse. But make no mistake ALL EXCUSES ARE EQUAL.
So tomorrow when you really don’t wanna do that morning ritual. Tough shit! Get out of bed and do what you gotta do to make it happen. Set your alarm for 5am, meditate, exercise and journal BEFORE the day starts. I promise you, you’ll thank me for it.
So today wasn’t so great. But tomorrow get back on the horse, and nail it! Because make no mistake the people you think are not watching are watching the closest. Those that told you in the beginning you were crazy ARE WATCHING and WAITING to say “I told you so”. Are you really gonna let that happen?
So, stop blaming and take responsibility. Get crystal CLEAR on your GOALS and get really honest with HOW MUCH YOU WANT THIS and seriously go and DO THE FREAKING WORK whether you’re motivated or not.
You are doing a dis-service to your clients/customers by staying small. Become a KICKASS NINJA when you’re NOT motivated. That’s when the MAGIC will happen.
